|
|
NetEncryptor is an excellent code protection tool for .net software deployment, but in the process of integrating NetEncryptor with our VS 2010 VB application we discovered that Avast antivirus can potentially interfere with NetEncryptor writing the encrypted (*.enc) assembly.
In our situation (Windows 7 Ultimate / Visual Studio 2010 Premium SP1) there was no console notification or logging from either NetEncryptor or Avast that writing of the .enc file was being blocked by Avast. This made it very difficult to trace down the problem.
The work-around we came up with was initially to disable Avast temporarily to isolate that this was indeed the source of the problem, then to resume Avast protection with NetEncryptor added to Avast's sandbox exclusion list.
Hope this saves other NetEncryptor developers some debugging time. Thanks to Infralution support for a lot of help in this diagnosis. |

Please note also that if Avast Sandbox is configured "automatic", your compiled assembly may also be intercepted without any notification, except for the Avast log. |
