|

Hello,
I have purchased IPN.NET but I can not get it to register.
It is hosted with 1&1 but when I enter the registration key I get error message :
IPN.NET Version 4 Installation
Welcome to the IPN.NET Server Installation Wizard. This wizard allows you to install the IPN.NET license (if required) and to configure or upgrade the database that IPN.NET Server uses.
License State: Not Installed
Enter your IPN.NET Version 4 license key - or leave blank and click Next to evaluate IPN.NET
Error (Unable to connect to the remote server) installing IPN.NET 4 License Key
I could I register it locally but not once hosted.
Is there security settings that could be preventing it from connecting ?
Thank-you,

Hello,
Also on Server I tried I could not get mail to be sent because of security :
The Xml Log :
<Error>Unhandled Exception: SecurityException Message: Request for the permission of type 'System.Net.Mail.SmtpPermission, System, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' failed. Stack Trace: at System.Security.CodeAccessSecurityEngine.Check(Object demand, StackCrawlMark& stackMark, Boolean isPermSet) at System.Security.CodeAccessSecurityEngine.Check(CodeAccessPermission cap, StackCrawlMark& stackMark) at System.Security.CodeAccessPermission.Demand() at System.Net.Mail.SmtpClient.Initialize() at System.Net.Mail.SmtpClient..ctor(String host, Int32 port) at IpnServer._Default.SendEmail(MailMessage message) at IpnServer._Default.SendCustomerEmail(String subject, String emailText) at IpnServer._Default.SendPurchaseEmails(Product product, String licenseKeyText, Int32 cartItem) at IpnServer._Default.ProcessPurchaseItem(Product product, Int32 quantity, Int32 cartItem) at IpnServer._Default.ProcessSinglePurchaseItem() at IpnServer._Default.ProcessPayment() at IpnServer._Default.Page_Load(Object sender, EventArgs e)</Error>
I believe some hosting companies have restrictions outgoing email servers.
Could you suggest a hosting company compatible?
The price of hosting is so low compared to the software and solving these issues are time consuming.

The original error (unable to connect to the remote server) is most likely due to a your web host configuration preventing apps from having web access. You'd need to contact your hosting providing. The mail error is a similar issue. We do have other customers who have successfully used 1 and 1 - so you may be able to get them to fix the setting required for you.
If you managed to get an error about exceeding your allowed installation limit then it sounds like you may have resolved the issue with web access. This should only occur if you have installed the key on more than just one local computer and your server. You will need to email support@infralution.com with your license details to resolve this issue.
We personally are using GoDaddy - although I no longer recommend them for new companies since many customers have had issues with their new hosting plans. Other hosting companies that I know customers have deployed successfully to are Rackspace, ActNow and Microsoft Azure. There are probably many others that I'm not aware of. _________________ Infralution Support |
