When using a new key (using Authentication Server > Use New Configuration Key)
The licenses disappear for all clients who use floating licenses. This shows up during the next reboot of course.
Is this normal? I don't understand why floating would and other single licenses don't.
What is this key used for? |

Do you mean selecting the Authentication Server > Configure Server menu in License Tracker and then selecting the "Use New Configuration Key" option?
This changes the encryption key used to protect communications between License Tracker and the Authentication Server. If you change this then you will have to re-run the Install.aspx on the Authentication Server to tell it to accept the new key. See the following thread for more detail:

This option should not change what license keys are displayed in License Tracker or the operation of floating licenses that have already been installed by users _________________ Infralution Support |

Hi,
Yes, I mean when you check the "Use New Configuration Key" option, then also use the Install.aspx to accept the new key.
I tried doing this for my app crash issue posted earlier to see if it would solve it.
But I noticed that when I use a new configuration key, my floating license disappears for ALL clients who use floating.
Is there something you think I should check on? The only custom thing I'm doing is using a custom generator plugin (dll) for my AuthenticationData. |

I cannot see any reason changing the configuration key would have that effect. _________________ Infralution Support |
